OSCAR!

Uh Oh......

I'm kind of bored....Why am I bored? Because I'm not going to gymnastics? Why aren't I going? Because I MIGHT have what's called a meniscal cyst. It's like a little ball of fluid in my knee. I had to go to the ER on Friday, but they just took an XRay. I'll probably get an MRI this week. What scares me is that my parents want me to be prepared to quit gymnastics. It's scary that that's even a possibility. What else would I possibly do? Swimming? No way. Soccer? Wouldn't be able to.

On a lighter note, though, I watched Saw! It was great! I saw the first and second one! (Apparently there are 7!) A warning, though: these movies aren't for people who are afraid of gory scenes or blood or who get scared easily. If you're not this kind of person, I highly recommend watching it! I'd give it 4.5 stars out of 5. That's pretty good, right?

New nails, by the way!!!

Finished!!!

Remember that extensive, challenging project I told you about in my last post? Well, it's done and over with! I am writing this in my school library, since I wasn't needed in my TA elective....

I think I'm getting some weird looks.....
Anyways, I made this mask in my art class: paper mached it and painted it. In case you can't tell, those are leaves on my forehead.
It's so nice to get hand out on the computer in the library instead of being a TA....
On another note, I really want to watch the movie Saw but will only do it with a friend. Anyone watched it? Please comment and tell me what you thought of it.

Work, work, work

I have this wonderful history project due tomorrow. It can be on any topic, so of course mine is on rhythmic gymnastics!! To give you an idea of how strenuous this project is, here's a list of just some of the things I have to do:
  • Preface
  • Outline
  • 40 ID terms
  • Book report (3-4 Pages)
  • Periodical Report (2-3 Pages)
  • 30 Test questions
  • 5 Essay questions, and answer one
  • Villanelle
  • Extras
I've done most of this (whew!). But because of this project, I had to miss the first ever competition at my gym! Trust me, if I had a choice, I would be out there on the carpet, in my leotard, throwing my clubs around. But to cheer myself up, I painted my nails. Here's a picture:

Off to work! :)

NEW MUSIC!

This is a little late, but recently (when I say recently I mean about a month or two ago) I had my clubs and rope routines choreographed. This year level 6 has Floor, Ball, Clubs, and Rope, so I'm keeping my Floor and Ball routines (last year there was hoop and ribbon instead of clubs and rope). Clubs are VERY difficult.

Olympics

It's been forever since my last post! I know the Olympics have passed, but why not talk about them? In case you missed it, here are the rhythmic individual results:

RUSSIA FOR THE WIN!!!!!! I'm so happy for Kanaeva and Charkashyna, especially since I saw her perform at LA Lights. Can you believe I have her autograph????

5OTH POST!!!!!!

WOW! MY 50TH POST!!! These past three posts have been like a posting streak or something! Let's get sentimental and take a look back at all my posts....just kidding, only kidding! I would never put you through such boring nostalgia!

Anyways, let's kick off this post with something on.........MY WINDOW! My flower pot/holder! Excuse my poor vocabulary.....Anyways, those ARE real flowers, all from my backyard, except for the paper umbrella (duh!).

Well, since it IS my 50th post, I probably should do something to commemorate it....how about a timeline of my gymnastics "career"? No, it's not as boring as a timeline; don't click "un-follow" yet:

1) I first started gymnastics with my sister, but only doing it recreationally
2) I thought I would become an olympian by doing, like, 3 hours a week
3) My sister quit gymnastics
4) I became a competitive gymnast
5) I became a level 6...
6) ....and I soon realized that there was no chance that I could become an olympian....THE END!

...well there might be a tiny chance....maybe?

GO MAKSYMENKO!!!

Did I spell that right? Oh well. You get the point. Anyways, I am rooting for Alina for the Olympics (obviously) and can't wait! WHY IS RHYTHMIC LAST IN THE OLYMPICS????

Anyways, I have been into a bracelet making phase. (Of course it would have something to do with gymnastics......) SO I started wearing my bracelets to gym and all the girls started asking me for some. Of course I couldn't refuse, so I made a bunch! About, like 10-15 bracelets. Each takes about 2 hours and 10 ft of string, so you can do the math. But anyways, here are a few:

Bad quality pictures, I know. That's what I get with a low quality webcam. But enough about my webcam; the last bracelet was made for my ballet coach. (shocker, I know-I HAVE A BALLET COACH AND SHE ASKED FOR A BRACELET????!!!) No, really, though-it might be a shocker that I have a ballet coach but not that she asked for a bracelet. Ugh. Whatever. I'm just rambling on.......I really should go sleep......

Gymnastics Camp!

Hi everyone! I'm back, and definitely in a much better mood, now that I've returned from two weeks straight of 9 hour practices. Speaking of rhythmic gymnastics, I am so excited for the Olympic Games. I saw the first part of the Opening Ceremony, and it was so touching! Sure, it wasn't as large or bold as the last summer Olympics, but this one was very emotional and had a lot of meaning behind it! Did anyone else start laughing hysterically when Mr. Bean began to "play" the piano? I am definitely rooting for teams Russia and Belarus to score golds and silvers in rhythmic gymnastics. EVGENIA KANAEVA FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!! I would never bet on Julie Zetlin taking any medals because, compared to the Russians, her technique is sloppy and her jumps are too loud. Enough negative comments; i just hope Russia wins!!!!! By the way, my coach trained Evgenia Kanaeva when Kanaeva was young. I hope she makes her proud!!

Drawing of a dog walker

Hi! I'm so glad it's summer! I just got out of school last Tuesday. This is my most recent creation:

My favorite dog is the spotted one. He's so cute! I had a garage sale today, but hardly anyone came. I wish more people would comment on my blog. It feels like I'm sharing my story and art and no one really cares enough to post a comment or just say "hi." I think only one person voted on my poll/s, but that's about it (Thanks). Not a single comment since, like, December!!! I'm getting lonely here, you guys!
So, please, take 2 seconds of your time and just comment, and let me know what's up, because I'm starting to think no one is really reading this blog anymore. Thanks!

BIRD NEST!!!!

I know, I know, I shouldn't be posting twice in one day, but this news is so exciting I can't wait until tomorrow to tell you! Ok, so there have been these two birds that, about 2 weeks ago, have started constantly flying to my window, pecking on it, and flying away. Since my window has a view of my roof, I would always see them flying back to the roof. One time one of the birds flew to my window and started pecking on it with straw in its mouth, so I predicted they were building a nest. Today, I looked through my window and I saw a BIRD'S NEST!!!!
The bird pecking on my window
The bird in the nest; you can see its little tail peeking out :)
I'm so excited to see the little chicks!!!

Back to the Gymnast of the day

Hi! It's been a while since I've posted 2 days in a row! Mainly because I've been so busy (you guessed it-gymnastics). I'm so nervous for the competition, but I think that my hoop and floor routines have been getting a lot better! Even my toes got better, and believe me, if you went to practice with me, you'd know I used to have the worst toes out of all the competitive gymnasts. (which isnt a lot, but still....) Anyways, it's been a while since I've done this, but here is the gymnast of the day:
Alina Maksymenko; hoop
She's one of my favorite gymnasts; I even have her autograph!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE CHECK OUT averycan.blogspot.com
Basically, this 5 month old baby was diagnosed with a fatal disease and she is telling her story (or her parents are actually) thru her blog. It would really help her out if you clicked the follow button. :)

Gymnastics Class

A lot of people think rhythmic gymnastics is really easy- all you do is prance around waving a ribbon. It isn't. It takes a lot of hard work, and I think it's one of the most beautiful sports. My favorite gymnast is Evgenia Kaneava; my coach trained her. Right now I have 5 coaches, and I will possibly get more. Another one of my coaches is training to be a judge at competitions. For those of you who son't know, this is my first year of competing. I have only been to 3 competitions, and my 4th one is in 2 weeks. It's the most important- it's the REGIONALS!!! I probably won't qualify for the Jr. Olympics, since I don't think I'm ready, but who knows? Anything can happen. Got to go to gym. class!

Palm desert

Hi! I just came back from Palm desert, it was so much fun! Believe it or not, it actually snows there, we took a tram up to the mountains, several thousand feet up, and hiked in the snow. There were rivers that were partly frozen and huge bolders. My brother, dad, mom, and I hiked up to see an amazing view of the landscape below. It's amazing how tiny we felt! The city below us was surrounded by desert, and everything was measured out in straight lines. It feels good to be back, though.

Some Yosemite Pictures

....Just as I promised!!! With an activity every single day of the week, you'd think I wouldn't have time for this, but just for you guys, I have found the time.
